Dr. Sonoda's Biography

Dr. Katherine Sonoda, or as we like to call her, "Dr. Kat", is a general dentist who is deeply passionate about working with children. She loves spending time with her patients and sharing stories about superheroes and princesses while helping them learn how to keep their teeth happy, healthy, and sparkling bright! Dr. Kat has a knack for helping uneasy children feel comfortable in the dental chair and is committed to providing the highest level of care and compassion to our youngest patients. Appointments are based around validating patients&rsquo; feelings and taking things at their pace. <br><br>With an MS in Public Health (University of Nevada Las Vegas), Dr. Kat focuses on preventive care and enjoys teaching families about the importance of oral health and its impact on their children&rsquo;s overall wellbeing. Dr. Kat is an active member of the American Dental Association and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She is also proud to serve as a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserves. Outside of the office, Dr. Kat loves exploring Portland with her family, discovering new foods, traveling, and stumbling upon local events and festivals.
