Dr. Al-Hashemi’s Biography

Dr. Jacob Y. Al-Hashemi is known for his caring, calming, and comforting approach to dentistry. A true team player, he pays close attention to detail and prioritizes delivering high-quality treatment, taking the time needed to ensure patients receive the best possible care. His calm demeanor helps put both patients and colleagues at ease, creating a supportive and reassuring clinical environment.

One of Dr. Al-Hashemi’s most rewarding professional experiences involved a patient who had endured a skin lesion on her chin for three years. After multiple dermatology visits and surgical procedures without resolution, the patient feared the condition might be skin cancer. During her visit to the dental clinic, Dr. Al-Hashemi identified the true cause—an infected canine tooth. Following the initial root canal treatment, the issue completely resolved, bringing immense relief to the patient and reaffirming the importance of comprehensive, thoughtful diagnosis.

Dr. Al-Hashemi’s interest in dentistry was inspired by a relative who was a dentist. Witnessing his calmness, love of life, and dedication to helping others had a lasting influence on his career path. He also has a passion for teaching endodontics and remains actively involved in educating the next generation of dentists in high-quality, evidence-based care.

Dr. Al-Hashemi chose to practice with Willamette Dental because of the welcoming, family-like atmosphere and strong teamwork. Outside of work, he enjoys long drives into nature, hiking, berry picking, swimming, and jet skiing—activities that help him recharge and enjoy quality time with his family.

Having had some traumatic experiences with dentists in the past, my anxiety still kicks in. However, not once have I had a bad experience with Willamette dental. Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable and calming.

My daughter is a teenager and she was very nervous for the appointment. The Endodontist staff were great and amazing the way they comforted my daughter.

Best dental experience to date. Was extremely nervous about getting a root canal, but I had absolutely no pain, and the dentist and assistant were wonderful.

Dr Jacob, endodontist is amazing! He was kind, showed compassion and helped me with my nervousness about having this procedure. He sat with me before and after the procedure to review and made sure I had no further questions or concerns. His assistant Precious was just as kind. Thank you Dr Jacob and Precious!

He was very good at his job and that's most important. His Assistant had nothing to say at all, maybe she is shy. They did a great and through job, just weren't very friendly. It felt awkward and weird, I wanted out. As long as my tooth is fixed it's all good by me. Just thought you might like to know.

I like the dental team, but is not ok with waiting weeks for an appointment

The wait time for urgent dental issues is ridiculous. Having the ONE specialist SPLITTING his time in the TriCities is the opposite of client service. I waited (in pain) for 5 weeks to get resolution. Break a crown, you work me in two weeks later. If I didn't get you my premium in on time monthly or miss an appointment, you would no doubt get right on it at my expense. And don't get me started on wait times when I call. "Care-less" service.

My experience is always amazing! This particular provider didn't talk through the steps of what he was doing.it was a huge surprise when he shoved the needle in my mouth? during the procedure I wondered "how much longer"... For me, I like knowing what's going on. The work was great!
