Dr. Chen discovered dentistry in his Junior year of high school, able to observe a dentist practicing across the street from his mother’s coffee shop. Appealing most were those interactions with patients and how comfortably he made everyone feel in his care. Dr. Chen brings the same easy-going personality into his office, where he’s able to foster partnerships with patients and promote a long-term approach to oral health at Willamette Dental Group. During his career he’s found that the simplest act can be the most meaningful, like offering a blanket or water to put patients at ease.
On days off, you’ll often find him running around the playground or park with his kids.

Dr. Chen listened to my concerns and was clear about my treatment options. He corrected the mistake of the previous dentist so I could floss where the filling had been placed. He explained what the next steps to my treatment plan. I hope Dr. Chen is around for a long time; he is a great Dentist one of the best I've seen.

I cracked my tooth and when I called for an appointment they got me in the next day. They had to pull it and made sure I wasn't in a lot of pain, very professional and friendly.

My hygienist Naomi was super fantastic. I have not had a better cleaning, a more comfortable cleaning, or a more thorough cleaning in I want to say a few years. Honestly, I could have fell asleep. My teeth are pretty sensitive and she put some numbing gel on there and we were off from there. She was just super great. I did let Dr. Chen know that Naomi, his hygienist, is terrific. Dr. Chen also has always been a pleasure and very thorough. Thank you.

Dr. Chen, the dental staff, and front desk staff are all very nice and helpful. Hygienist gave good tips in a very gentle and suggestive manner which was lovely. However, every single Willamette staff member I spoke to has always provided incorrect or incomplete information about your processes. This has caused a ton of frustration and many, many months of delay. I would NEVER recommend Willamette to anyone. This experience has been terrible.

Willamette Dental is the most amazing dentist I've ever been to. They were the first dental company who told me that my root canal, previous root canal was done wrong and they took the time to take the old root canal out and do it right and actually show me what they did. I love it. My cat, everything, the staff is just amazing. So thank you. I definitely would recommend you. See you at my next visit.

The care at Willamette in Kent was wonderful! I am pregnant in the third trimester and everyone was very respectful of that which was appreciated. Dr. Chen was incredibly respectful and gentle. He has a very kind demeanor. I cannot recommend him and his team highly enough! I look forward to returning.
