Very friendly, professional hygenist. I had to wait for the dentist. But I was in a hurry fir an appointment so another dentist stepped in and performed the exam. It was very much appreciated.

My dentist and hygienist were both amazing. This is I think my 5th appointment with this dentist, and he is always informative and compassionate. My hygienist was very kind and professional. Both the front desk, and billing were amazing also

Rose and Dr. Shim were great! They are always great! They make me feel at ease and very comfortable! I was going to switch providers but because of them I will definitely stay with Willamette!

The only problem I have with Willamette is scheduling an appointment a couple months away.

Each visit I have had with Dr. Shim the hygienist working with him has displayed how much they enjoyed working with him. Both the Dr and the hygienist work hand in hand and make my experience very comfortable.

Our dental assistant Rose was amazing, she made sure Emma my daughter was calm and relaxed. Since she is very nervous at the dentist. Her dentist was great he made sure to listen to her and her problems. Making sure she was never in pain.

Dr Shim and his assistant, Brooke, as well as the office staff, were courteous & professional. Dr Shim is very thorough and gentle while completing the needed dental work. He also explained care needed now to maintain my good dental health since some old crowns are somewhat fragile.

The Team was great. They respected each other and helped when others needed them. The tech that worked with the Dr was so kind and patient. The Dr even took extra time due to the procedure being more extensive than anticipated. I always tell others about Willamette and the great service! They also use new and updated equipment and I love that!

The staff was welcoming, heard my concerns, evaluated my issue and offered a couple of choices moving forward. I was very happy with the folks in Tacoma.

Both Simona RDH and Dr Shim were attentive & gentle. Both provided clear directions and explanations.

Everyone in the office from check in to check out was great.

It was hard to hear/understand the dental assistant when she was wearing a double mask coverup - a paper one inside, & a large plastic face shield over that. Please ask your assistants to speak loudly, slower, & clearly - for seniors especially!

The hygienist that I was with was absolutely wonderful and super helpful. Visit from the dentist was short and quick, but that was expected.

Everyone was so nice and really gentle.

Our appointment was at 4pm. We were taken back to a treatment room at 4:20 and left unattended for another 10 min. Our visit with the dentist was respectful but very brief.

The entire staff from the front office to my Dr. treated me with care and kindness. I always have a pleasant experience when I go to Willamette.

Had my tooth pulled so bleed quite a bit. Assistant told me she would send me home with plenty of guaz but was only sent home with 1. Had to stop and buy more. All in all very satisfied except about guaz

The stuff we're all very polite. I waited in the waiting room 15 plus past my appointment time then unfortunately was told they didn't have time to clean my teeth. Dr Shim made sure he got them polished for me. It's just unfortunate I have to come back. I understand things happen and the staff were all very nice and respectful.

Experience was great. Staff was friendly and worked well with each other. However did receive conflicting info on how often to use RX toothpaste and mouthwash.

The dental assistant, Rose, was very sweet and very, very, very considerate of me, and this is my third or fourth time having dental work done by John, and he's amazing. He is very upfront and honest with me about how to take care of my teeth and prevent more damage, and he has been kind and compassionate every time, and I really enjoy having him as my dentist.

I've been asked to evaluate the dentist John Shim. I never saw him. The dental hygienist went and spoke to him about my hair, but he never came in to see me. That's a bit disappointing that he would give a direction and orders for my treatment without ever actually seeing me. However, the woman who created my temporary crown was exceptional. I wish I could remember her name.

Everyone from the receptionist to the hygienist to the dentist were extremely friendly, nice and professional.

The person who did my x rays was wonderful and so was the hygienist! However, the dentist was not as great...I brought up my main complaint of grinding my teeth and pain in my jaw and the dentist completely ignored that and just told me i needed braces which i've been told before (and my teeth are in my mouth so i know they're crooked). It felt like he was more concerned about the look of my teeth rather than the health of them.

Dr Shim is SO wonderful!! We have had two different dental assistants and have adored them both as well. My son struggles tremendously with going to the dentist (extremely bad anxiety) and each time they have been SO incredibly patient with him and so kind. It has made such a difference for us. We are so grateful to have found the best dentist!! The moment you walk in to the office you are greeted with kindness and smiles from everyone you encounter. Thank you for making the experience wonderful from before the appointment starts until we are leaving! Thank you Dr Shim and all the staff at Willamette!

The wait time from when you make the appointment to when you'll be seen is way too long. Three months wait is a long time.

Dr Shim is very helpful, nice and caring with his patients. He explains things and gives options and opinions to go by as though you are related to him.

Dr Shim is by far the best dentist I've ever had. You can tell he cares about his patients. His work is always painless and he keeps you informed on exactly what's going on.

Hygienist was very friendly and informative, a little rough with her waterpik but adjusted when asked. Dentist entered the room, sat in the chair for several minutes, did not speak or introduce himself until I turned around in the chair to see who was actually in the room with me. Not a great first impression but I'll assume it was an off day.

The Dental hygienist was very nice and kept up conversation while the Dentist was running a little behind! Everyone in the office was very welcoming and the office had a smooth vibe! Love coming to the Tacoma Office!

I received an email to schedule my annual check up and when I called I wa told there were no appointments. They would put me on a list and call me. I waited almost 3 weeks and called again. I was told that I was on the list and she would email the Tacoma office that I called and waiting for a call back. I got a call the next day with a date but that did not work. They said they would look for more dates. I got a call a day later and we set the appointment. Personally, it should not be so difficult to schedule an annual checkup! Seems they should have a few dates set aside for the patient to chose from and give a number to call to confirm a date.

Staff was very friendly across the board!

I confirmed my appointment a week earlier and never cancelled. Received both email reminders and did not cancel. Spoke with no one over the phone and yet was told I cancelled my appointment the day before when I arrived at 8:00 am. They were able to work me in an hour later roughly but I am still wondering how my appt. got cancelled the night before. It kind of threw a monkey wrench in my day, the dentist's day and the hygienist's day.

When I came into the clinic no one told me what I was going to be having done. Nothing was confirmed: not treatment, not procedure, not even which tooth was to be worked on. I come from a medical background and I can advocate for myself... but this is extremely concerning for someone with less medical knowledge.

Great place to have your Dental Care

The team was amazing we went in as a family of 4 which made shuffling around with little a little challenging but the team was so accommodating. Our daughter was super hesitant but the hygienist showed her all the tools and made her comfortable. Huge blessing!

There is a disconnect between scheduling and the treatment staff.

Both my hygienist and X-ray tech were very kind, caring and personable. And I know my cleaning wasn't normal it was more extensive but my hygienist let me take breaks if I needed to and she was very very patient with me. Dr Shim was very kind as well, I didn't spend too much time with him but he was a very nice gentleman. He said he would try to help me get the referral to get my wisdom teeth out so that it would help with my pain. Overall, the reception and dental staff were very kind, nice, and professional. They got me in very quickly and I'm glad that I'm back at Willamette.

I really appreciated Dr. Shim telling me all the options and procedures For me.

It is frustrating to make an appointment ahead of time only to be waiting because of others being late or squeezed in ahead of you.
